Green Compliance Plus blog features energy-efficient home by Klopf Architecture

An upcoming new Eichler-style home in Cupertino designed by Klopf Architecture is over 50% above Title-24 energy standards. The house is likely to earn around 200 "green points" on the Green Point Rated scale when completed. The project will go into construction later this summer. Houzz praises Klopf Architecture

Referring to our approach to Eichler home renovation in her weekly wrap-up: "You Said It: Use the Imperfect as an Opportunity and More Wisdom." Becky Harris writes: "I really love this attitude. Instead of asking, ‘What did Joseph Eichler do back then?’ the designers asked, ‘What would Joseph Eichler do today?’ While the renovation is as respectful of the home’s pedigree as possible, they looked to an iconic designer’s belief system instead of getting bogged down in pure emulation." Modern Cabin features a modern house by Klopf Architecture

Michelle Kodis’s 2007 book Modern Cabin features the Manzanita House in a ten-page spread. The house is referred to as "Simple, Functional, Highly Livable" and can be found on pages 126-135.The book is available from Gibbs-Smith.

In the lead article for the Winter 2008 issue, author Tanja Kern interviewed John Klopf and others regarding principles of modern design. The article focusses on floor-to-ceiling glass, sliding doors, and the type of openness to he outdoors that modern architecture can offer.

San Mateo Highlands Eichler Home Tour 2009 – Klopf Architecture is a Gold Sponsor

The only Eichler renovation in the Highlands we have completed in the last year will not be on the tour due to the owner’s understandable desire for privacy. However, John Klopf will be on hand at an original, untouched Eichler house to discuss Eichler architecture, especially approaches to moderinizing, remodeling, and expanding Eichlers while maintaining their "Eichler spirit".

Our Net-Zero Energy House Project Receives Solar Rebate through NSHP

Energy Compliance Plus has just posted an informative blog entry about the New Solar Homes Partnership, through which our Net-Zero Energy House project receintly received a rebate. We were able to provide the needed information, coordinate with the owner, contractor, solar provider, etc. Both our client, and we were interviewed for this blog entry. Kudos go to the solar company Cobalt Power Systems, Inc., who made us aware of the program and assembled / submitted the application materials.
